JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for all aspects of developing, managing, installing, and implementing assigned capital and major maintenance equipment projects in a manufacturing facility. In addition, the Senior Project Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining the project process in accordance with company standards as well as managing the master project list and budget.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor internal projects from initiation through completion
  • Coordinate and direct activities of fixed duration to ensure that the goals and objectives are accomplished within the determined timeframe and budget
  • Monitor project progress, assess issues, and recommend resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
  • Review status of projects and budgets, coordinate schedules, and prepare status reports
  • Coordinate the operational aspects of assigned projects
  • Collaborate with internal engineering groups for support in the development and implementation of these projects
  • Implement improvements in manufacturing in areas of process stabilization, repeatability, quality, control, efficiencies of labor, rate improvement, operational downtime reduction and elimination of scrap and rework
  • Determine the feasibility of proposed project and recommends the structural, mechanical, electrical, operational, or other requirements for senior management approval
  • Responsible for implementation of capital and cost design changes and troubleshooting of plant issues
  • Evaluate vendor proposals and designs, and exercise effective judgment around functionality, cost, and timing
  • Develop supporting documentation and reports
  • Generate process flow diagrams, drawings, procedures, and training documents
  • Order materials needed for your assigned projects
  • Manage assigned projects from inception to completion
  • Supervise the installation of all Engineering projects pursuant to project requirements
  • Coordinate and review contractor and vendor activity and interface with maintenance and production personnel as required ensuring all Company standards are maintained
  • Leverage and manage plant functional resources to successfully deliver project results
  • Independently handle complex issues without supervision

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering

• 10+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, ideally in project engineering roles
