- Lead first-pass success initiatives by creating detailed process routings, tooling, gauging, and fixturing.
- Drive continuous improvements across core manufacturing capabilities to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Oversee capital projects supporting business growth and market expansion.
Process Standardization & Continuous Improvement
- Develop comprehensive manufacturing instructions (routers), including Bill of Materials (BOMs), process drawings, assembly instructions, and factory layout designs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure manufacturing processes align with technical requirements and customer specifications.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost reductions through Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Implement engineering changes and recommend process modifications to optimize production performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new product qualification and launch.
- Work closely with Operations, Planning, and Programming teams to align machining and tooling requirements.
- Engage with customers to develop design-for-manufacture solutions that optimize performance and cost.
- Provide accurate cost estimates for new and existing products based on process analysis.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with CNC machining (3 & 5-axis mills, turning), EDM, gun drilling, welding, hydrostatic pressure testing, and heat treating.
- Material & Quality Knowledge: Strong understanding of material behaviors throughout the manufacturing process.
- Design & Documentation: Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), technical documentation, and quality control methodologies.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with solid modeling software such as Creo, Inventor, or SolidWorks (preferred).
- ERP & Data Analysis: Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Visual MFG, Global Shop, JD Edwards preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
