Description:
Private label supplier of batters, breadings, spices, sauces, marinades, glazes to large grocery store chains and food service markets producing over 100 different labels and products and supplying over 200 products to major food manufacturers.

Responsibilities

Manage the overall Quality activities of 2 plant facilities and laboratory to ensure compliance of all applicable regulatory requirements and established specifications.

HACCP Program review, update, maintenance, ingredient assessment and hazard analysis.

Finished Good Analysis and Process Authority Listing.

Manage administrative, floor quality and microbiology lab activities.

Facilitate a continuous improvement philosophy.

3rd party audits.

Product non-conformity investigation; specification, product conditions and correction.

Recall and traceability plan.

Monitor regulatory and compliance directives.

Customer complaint investigations and responses.

Maintain Pest Control Program and documentation.

Audit Daily Batch Documentation, Audit Preparations, Audit and document non- conforming incoming ingredients, Supplier Approval Survey Program and COA review program.

Assess current methods to facilitate continuous improvement efforts.

Manage a QA and laboratory staff of 25.

Department staffing, new hire training and refresher training.

QA and QC staff evaluations.

Reports to: VP Operations.

Qualifications

BS Food Science or Science related.

7+ years QA/QC experience in food manufacturing.

Knowledge of FDA, USDA regulatory requirements, HACCP, AIB, SQF, BRC, Microbiology, plant sanitation, pest control.

Continuous Improvement background desired.
