Description:
Work Schedule - Sun-Thurs, 10:30pm to 7:30am.

Private label supplier of batters, breadings, spices, sauces, marinades, glazes to large grocery store chains and food service markets producing over 100 different labels and products and supplying over 200 products to major food manufacturers.

Responsibilities

Manage the sanitation activities of 2 plants with a team of 30 to ensure established goals and compliance of Sanitation Procedures and all regulatory USDA / FDA) requirements are exceeded.

Determine required resources; provide training, guidance and leadership to plant personnel.

Advise management on pre-op plant sanitation results and cleaning programs.

Guide special sanitation activities and issues including microbiological and environmental control.

Investigate sanitation issues and implement effective corrective actions. i.e. Pathogen Environmental programs to proactively detect and eliminate sources of contamination.

Provide sanitary design recommendations for new installations and existing equipment.

Develop and maintain cost effective programs for sanitation programs. Work with sanitation chemical providers to maximize technical expertise.

Facilitate a continuous improvement philosophy, assess and implement the effective use of chemicals, sanitation methods, staff training and monitoring programs to ensure established goals and regulatory requirements are always exceeded.

Qualifications

BS preferred, or equivalent work experience.

5+ years of food industry experience in Production, Quality, and / or Sanitation roles.

3+ years Supervisory / Management experience.

Knowledge of FDA / USDA requirements.

Knowledge of sanitation methods and chemicals used in the food industry.

Understanding of HACCP and Food Safety.

Excellent employee relationship building skills.

Understanding of microbiological organisms of concern in the food industry.

Continuous Improvement background desired.
